Insight shatters the previously held conceptions that
network monitors have to be expensive and complex
products to use. LANTREK Insight is incredibly low cost and is priced to give you an immediate pay back on your investment. Quite literally within hours in most cases! It runs on standard PCs and works with standard Network Interface Cards. Running under Windows 95, 98 and NT, LANTREK Insight uses the graphical facilities of the operating system, making it extremely easy to use. Most Users only ever need a single screen to see all the important LAN statistics. At a glance you can immediately see current network status, bandwidth utilisation, packets per second and packet size distribution. All information is presented graphically as well as numerically and is colour coded in accordance with your own pre-defined thresholds for warning and danger status. |

| Alarms can
be set to bring your attention to thresholds being
exceeded over a pre-determined period of time. Now, you
can be sure that you will be aware of network congestion
without having to wait for your Users to complain about
poor response times. You can also configure LANTREK Insight Alarms based on the numbers of packets per second on the network. Useful for identifying the gradual deterioration of hardware, or perhaps rogue applications that are either unnecessary or unauthorised, as they begin to transmit a large volume of packets. LANTREK Insight monitors errors on your network and, once again, automatically brings threshold breaches to your attention. Event Log records all alarms and alerts and time stamps them to allow you to historically assess the effectiveness of your network. Particularly useful as a record of activity when you are called away from the network. | LANTREK Insight runs on industry standard PCs. For Windows 95/98 we recommend a Pentium 200MHz or above with 32M RAM. For NT a Pentium 200MHz or above with 64M RAM. LANTREK Insight will run with most Network Interface Cards supporting the NDIS driver specification. For 10/100M Ethernet we recommend 3Com adapters, for Token Ring Madge 4/16 Smart Ring Node adapters. Token Ring adapters must be capable of running in a promiscuous mode. | |||
